Christmas ad for Brown Thomas
Brown Thomas wanted to create an ad plus a series of social videos for their Christmas 2018 campaign that would reflect the theme for their famous Christmas windows. In 2018 the theme was “Showtime” – with lush costumes inspired by 1950’s Hollywood. The ad was also to tie in strongly to the photo and magazine campaign the retail store was to release in the Christmas season.
One Productions devised the concept and story in conjunction with the BT team – using the actual costumes and props that were to appear in the windows, together with selected outfits that were to appear in the photography campaign. The Olympia Theatre was hired for a 2-day shoot, to include both video and photography and the main 30 second ad was supplemented by 10 second VOD versions plus a series of 10 second social media and google video ad teasers.
The ad is being shown in cinemas nationwide in the run up to Christmas 2018, on all BT channels, and the social media cutdowns are in use extensively on BT social media. Ads are booked in for RTE and TV3 VOD – and all released to coincide with the launch of the Brown Thomas Christmas windows.
