Mental Health Commission – brand design, print & marketing

One Productions has provided brand design and print design services to the Mental Health Commission (MHC) since the commission’s establishment in 2002. On first winning the account, we were responsible for branding the MHC, which culminated in the production of comprehensive brand guidelines to ensure adherence to the brand strategy by all parties.

Since the initial branding process, a range of reports, information leaflets, posters and folders have been produced annually for the commission, with One Productions designing and print-managing all items.

The Mental Health Commission is an independent organisation, set up under the Mental Health Act 2001, which protects an individual’s right and interests in relation to mental health services in Ireland. The commission’s primary role is to make sure that mental health services maintain high standards and good practices and to protect the interests of people detained in approved centres.

Included among the activities carried out by the Mental Health Commission are the following:

Appointing members of Mental Health Tribunals; Setting up a panel of consultant psychiatrists to carry out independent medical examinations of people involuntarily admitted to approved centres; appointing Mental Health Tribunals to review the admission of every involuntary patient; Preparing codes of practice and guidelines for people working in mental health services; Appointing an Inspector of Mental Health Services; and keeping a register of approved centres.
