GE Money

One Productions was approached by GE Money to create an internet viral as part of their ‘Rehearsing for a Loan’ Personal Loan advertising campaign. The concept was to film members of the public quoting famous movie-lines, allowing an online vote to decide the best performance.

We organised to shoot the public in shopping centres in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway over two weekends. We designed a ‘performance booth’ and placed promotional staff on-site. A total of 400 participants were filmed for the promotion. Once shot, the clips were edited and uploaded to GE Money’s website, and participants were informed that their performance could be viewed and voted for on-line. The prize of a trip to Universal Studios enticed participants to send the link to as many of their acquaintances as possible, hence maximizing the impact of the viral campaign.

The promotion proved hugely successful, with GE Money Ireland winning an internal award for the ‘Rehearsing for a Loan’ campaign. So successful was the use of a viral in promoting the loan scheme, that GE have decided to adopt it as a ‘best practice’ procedure, and it will now be used by the company globally.
