"Close" to screen in Dublin's Meeting House Square
"Close", the short movie written, directed, produced and scored by One Productions, has been selected to screen in Dublin's outdoor cinema at the Meeting House Square on 18th June as part of the Stella Artois short film series. The movie will open the evening before the screening of "Billy Elliot"."Close" has achieved a number of accolades over its short period in distribution having been selected to represent Ireland at the prestigious Venice Film Festival and also at Montreal.
Shot in the Autumn of 2002, the film was carefully post-produced over subsequent months to achieve the 'supernatural' effect required from the story. It was finally completed in the Autumn 2003.
The story of a girl who had a near-death experience following a horrific car crash is based on a popular American spiritual vignette as recounted by Trisha McDonnell.
